Voice of Hope Update - Jan 2014
Dear Scott Beigle and Faith Radio Listeners
Greetings in Jesus name.
Happy New Year in 2014.
We thank God who has allowed us to see this new year because He has a purpose for us to be alive. Until He call us home we will serve Him faithfully with the time He has given to us. The year 2013 has been a good year for us. We have gone to many villages and preached the gospel and brought many people into the kingdom of God.
Our family is doing well and God is taking good care of us.
I’m have been in Uganda since January 2 for my second semester of my masters studies.
Below is a report of the training you and the listeners supported for the pastors training camp in December, 2013.
God spoke to us several years ago that we should conduct a special training camp for pastors that live in all the different villages. 99.9% of pastors in the different villages have not yet received any theological training. Most of them they can only lead their church by the grace of God. There are no other training or seminar experiences for pastors in the villages. Most pastors in villages don’t get any opportunity to experience any training.
The 2013 Pastors Training Camp.
At the end or 2013, we had a wonderful training for pastors and their wives from villages. The major focus were about the establishment of a marriage of a pastor. Most pastors in Africa they do the ministry by themselves without their spouse. They think their spouse are not part of their ministry. This last year we encouraged each pastor to bring his/her spouse so that they would receive training together. It was a wonderful training experience we have never ever experienced before.
Above are some of Pastors wives getting onto a bus from our VHM offices ready to be taken to a place where the Pastors Training Camp was taking place.
In previous years we have been having male pastors without their spouses. This time was very different many pastors brought their wives to the training which was a huge step for the advancement of the ministries in villages.
in the photos above our VHM team were also part of the people attending the Pastors training camp. They encouraged the pastors, and prayed with them, but also got an opportunity to receive the teachings and the training which are very useful for the ministries we are doing in villages.
Pastors and their spouses from different villages listening careful the teachings from the multiple instructors during the Pastors Training Camp December 2013.
God has put a burden for us to conduct this special training at least once a year. Every first week of December we bring together these pastors from various villages from every Conner of our country. We conducts this special training for the following reasons:
1. To unite Pastors from Different Villages:
We want to see unit among pastors from different denomination and different background, to bring them together and encourage them to consider one another as valuable partners in ministering of the Gospel and encourage them to partner and work together as servants of God regardless their denomination differences.
We are not building our kingdom we are building the kingdom of God and we want all of these pastors to have a partnership in their ministries.
2. To Encourage Pastors:
Some of the pastors, they testified, said, since they have been starting a church in village, no one has encouraged them even the heads of their denomination none of them. Some of them had left the ministry to go back where they came from and some were thinking to quit from this difficult ministry. We use this time to encourage them and praying with them. This a great encouragement for them.
we have asked churches around to give cloths and different things so as we can bless the pastors with different things they need.
3. Training for the Pastors:
Above are some of the Instructors who taught in Pastors Camp for the year 2013. We bring a very classic instructors to teach and training pastors in different subjects as per suggestion from them. We thank God for giving us quality speakers to teach our pastors this year.
For most pastors who attends this training, this is their seminary.
It is one week of life change and transformation for these pastors and their ministries. They are well equipped and well fed for the churches they lead in their villages.
4. To Challenge the Pastors to Think Beyond their Box.
Most pastors in village, they believe that they cannot do anything good because they are not from the city.
In this training we teach and challenge pastors to pray and think beyond the box. We teach them on how to do micro-business to help them support their families and ministry as well. We challenge and help them to see how much they can do in a small scale they have to produce great.
The Pastors training for 2013 has been a life change training for pastors and their spouses who came from different villages.
There was also lots of healing stsories for pastors marriages. Each husband and wife were given time to seat as couples and discuss some of the issues which has been hindering the peace and joy in their marriages. Some pastors had testified that the misunderstandings in their marriages has caused the ministry to be not effective. They thanked God for this training which has changed their lives and helped them to have a new beginning of their marriage and their ministries in general.
The marriage session ended with a very powerful prayer. Pastors and their spouse came forward with tears to repent for the things they have wronged each other and recommit to be faithful and helpful to their spouses. Through this training many wounds has been healed. People who gave up of their marriage they were lifted up again. Evan some of broken marriage were restored again and start the process a flesh. We had experience a power of God in this camp. Pastors said, our lives are not the same. Our ministries will not be same. We are new in Christ full charged for the better lives as husband and wife and great ministries. We really thank God for what he has done in this one week of pastors training.
A CHALLENGE OF A DEATH DURING THE CAMP:
A pastor got attacked and had to eat rats
This training really encourages pastors who have gone through painful experience because of ministry. This pastor gave a testimony of what he went through in his ministry. He said “One evening I was coming back home from preaching. On my way back home I was met by policemen, they stopped me. Before even I knew why they were stopping me, they hit me on my left leg and I fell down. They tookme to the prison. When I arrived they said I was accused as a killer. They said there were robbers killed people few hours a go and run away. So the police were going around the village when they saw me they suspected me as one of the robbers who run away. As a result I was in jail for one year with not much else but torches. I suffered a lot for the things I have never done. I asked God why me suffering while I was coming to do the ministry?
When I came out from jail I did not find any member of the church all of them went back to the former religion (Islamic). I had to start the church all over again.
Now I have six members in my congregation. They are very poor. There is lots of droughts in our villages. There is no any kind of meet in village people they ate all animals even dogs they used to keep for security they were finally being eaten. Now people goes in the bushes to look for rats and bring home for meal. Few weeks ago before I came to this training one member of my church brought 6 rats in the church as a tithe. He told me Pastor I was lack this week when I went to the bush I was able to catch 60 Rats and here are 6 rats as my tithe to the Lord for the meal he has given to me. The pastor had never eaten a rat in his life, but because of a difficult life they are all facing in village he had to learn how to BBQ the rats and eat. The pastor is the missionary in this village. Because of this hard life him and his wife had a plan to finish this year 2013 and as the new year 2014 come he planned to live the church and the village and go back to his original village. Because of this training he was so encouraged and his heart was lifted up in a might way. This has changed his heart and mind and he is no longer planning to quit the ministry in this village he as commit himself to God that he will continue serving God there until God himself say otherwise.
A Death of A Pastor’s child in a Camp.
With all the good things happened in this training camp, we faced another challenge.
One pastor came with his wife and a small child to attend this pastors training camp. One the third day of the training his child became sick.
He reported to me, we prayed for a child and we sent them to the hospital. When they got to the hospital she received some treatment and came back to a camp.
That night the child became even more and more sick. We took the child to another hospital. She was hospitalized. The next day we received news that the child had passed away. So it was so sad for one of our pastor to go through all this during the camp. We had to work it out running the camp at the same time making all the organization of transport the dead body with the parents and some of our team to a village where this pastor came from for burial. It was very tough experience but we thank God for taking us through all this and we were able to manage all in peace.
Prayer in Mosque
About a week ago as I was doing the prayer to close the year 2013, I went to a certain town and did my fasting prayer there. In the conclusion of the prayer, the Lord led me to conclude it during the worship in Mosque. It was very tough because as you know what it means. I had to dress myself and went for prayer like the Muslims do. I was worshiping like all other people in Mosque but I was deeply praying against all the evil spirits that hinder people to not see the truth and light of the Lord. I was praying that God’s power will be manifesting in people’s lives and they will experience the love of the Lord in different villages we will stapes our feet in the year 2014. When the service was over, I had an opportunity to spend two hours with three key men from the mosque. We talked and discussed for long time. At the end of our discussion one of a leader wanted to see me alone aside. When we met aside we spend another one hour and finally this leader gave his life to the Lord. Praise God.
Our Desire for Next Training.
We would like to have two major trainings in a year instead of the one we are doing every first week of December.
We would like to conduct another training at the end of every April. This training will be a little bit different from the one we do in December.
The December training is a general training for all pastors who are serving God in villages and it aims to unite pastors, encourage pastors, providing a quality teaching for their ministries and challenge them to think and do out of their box.
The April training is for practical training. It will focus on helping key pastors in different villages on how to help new believers grow in their level of maturity. We have been to many places and have seen many people come to Christ during the outreach but very few remain. Many go back to their original life. This April training will be focusing on helping these key pastors as the trainer who will receive this training and take the same training to other pastors and church leaders in the villages they come from and their near villages. The training will help the key pastors from villages to skills on how to handle people like witch doctors, Muslims and people who have not dealt with evil spirits for a long time. These people will need special attention not like a normal person who comes to Christ.
We expect 200 Key pastors from over 178 villages in Tanzania. We need to cover a full person and transport for the pastors who will attend this training.
The cost for one key pastor to attend this training is $60 for 4 days training. We are praying that if people will show up and sponsor some of these pastors so as we accomplish this program for the advancement of the kingdom of God.
We take this time to thank you all for your prayer and support as you had helped us to advance the kingdom of God in Tanzania and Africa.
It is our prayer that the Lord will bless you and keep you.
